The SWING pdf converter is incredibly stable and simple to use. It is highly powerful, and because it employs Notes-forms as the foundation of the print-design, it is very simple to produce WYSIWYG-documents. I highly recommend it. The best part of the SWING pdf converter is that the time of conversion is very less and the quality is good.

단점:

The only issue I discovered is that when we try to make a PDF with large images, the program refuses to accept it and crashes. Also, it is slightly expensive.

Perfect contact with our customers

주석: Our business is present packaging and shopping bags. Online we wanted to enable our websites visitors to get quotations for individual productions of shopping bags. At the end of the web process, the visitor should recieve our automated quotation by mail in the form of an attached PDF file. A similar process should be invented for order confirmations in our online shop. With help of the SWING PDF API the programming has been really fast and with a weeks work, we now have created custom functions, we can use everywhere in Domino.

Swing PDF Converter comes with a great API, which enables every IBM/HCL Domino Developer to let Domino- or Web users create perfect looking PDF-Files. A Domino Administrator can easily deploy a PDF Toolbar to every client, which gives the user the possibility to create PDF-Files from every Notes document, view or folder

단점:

If there is a con, I missed a multilingual support. A developer has to translate some forms. With each release or update, the developer has to check, where changes have been made and might have to translate again.

Easy to use and fast

주석: We are using it to automaticly convert email in lotus notes to pdf for KANA

장점:

The fast convertions to pdf and the easy way to use for de end customer. The support is for the server version we had was fantastic and fast. They are taking the time to analyze the problem and come very fast with fixes.

단점:

The domino server version of Swing had many errors in the beginning. The server version is more difficult to implement but much more easy to use.

Very Useful Software

장점:

We initially purchased SWING PDF Converter to save e-mail that needed kept passed the 90 day purge date or to make electronic document of e-mails or other documents that needed to be e-mailed easily. It did a great job of creating PDFs that looked almost exactly like the document in Notes. It was very easy to setup and use the basic functionality. As we started moving away from Notes we used it to archive some databases into PDF Packages which are very easy to search. It really helped us with our Notes archiving. A feature we particularly liked was the ability to setup a special form for conversions so we could export to a PDF one way without affecting the main form.

단점:

While most documents converted well, there were a lot of time where we needed to make adjustments to forms to make the PDF readable. When creating PDF Packages dates don't convert properly. You have to create a separate view and convert the date columns to text to come across properly.

SWING PDF Converter integrates seamlessly with IBM Notes

주석: Our sales team has a Standardized Quoting tool that used SWING PDF Converter to create pdf documents of Notes forms. SWING PDF Converter is a great value for accomplishing this requirement.

We implemented SWING PDF Converter within a Notes Application for Sales Quotes. It is very easy to add to the Notes design. Our sales force doesn't realize their is another product creating the PDF documents. The pdf documents look exactly like the Notes forms.

단점:

I have had a few struggles with page margins and page breaks on my forms. SWING PDF Converter is very customizable and a little overwhelming to find all of the parameters and features.

Migrating from Lotus Notes

주석: We used the software to quickly and easily migrate data out of an old Lotus Notes database and import it into an ASP.NET Web Application. It took us longer to do the import than to export the PDF with SWING PDF Converter.

Very simple to download, install and setup. The examples meant that it was really quick and easy to add it to the database and start extracting data into PDF. It was important for us to be able to name the extracted PDF files appropriately and for any DocLinks and embedded Rich Text objects to be included to ensure we didn't lose any of the data. Without the SWING PDF Converter this would have taken us months.

단점:

I'm an old Lotus Notes developer, somebody non technical might struggle to get the most out of the software and use its full potential.

Swing PDF an excellent tool for automatic process

Tool is Very easy to implement and it works very well. We automated some PDF creation and may people are using it everyday.

The only thing we found out is if we try to create a PDF with a large image , the software doesn't accept it and crash.

It provided the function calls I needed to generate a PDF documents and attach them to client forms ready to send out to clients.

단점:

The automatic 'make this notes document into a pdf' doesn't work for us as our client forms seem to be too complicated with tables inside tabbed tables .

주석: We've been using Swing PDF Converter for almost five years now and it's proven to be as effective and useful as we had hoped it would. The ability to take your emails or whatever other documents you have and print them to PDF is great.
Swing's team has great customer support, striving to help their customers and do so in a timely manner. Quite impressive, to say the least. Keep it up!

The ability to render Notes documents and their MIME contents as PDFs without losing any of the formatting

단점:

The neglection of their Java API although it could be forgiven since their main language is LotusScript after all

After 4 years usage

주석: With this product we can dynamically build and deliver complex PDF collections on demand or scheduled. All attachments (office files, images,..) from documents are rendered directly to PDF and so its viewable with almost any device.

장점:

Product has powerful api and it gives lots of tools to build neat PDF exports

단점:

This is probably domino render issue, but when using linux server there are sometimes challenges to finetuning PDF layout.

Highly accurate, easy to manage conversion support tool

Rapid and high quality support, easy to install and helpful for notes design maintain

단점:

After setting, there is no need for frequent maintenance, so that every time you look at the problem, you are very unfamiliar.

Indispensable when generating PDF from IBM Notes.

Outline of Swing generated PDF is not allways equal compared to direct print from Notes.

Swing PDF Converter -- Works

주석: The business problems we were resolving was a migration from the Notes platform.

장점:

It works, we have migrated thousands of notes documents to PDF. This has mainly been due to the requirement to shut down the Domino servers. The product has been easy to use and worked well.

단점:

It can take a while to run, would be nicer if it was quicker, but it is basically set and forget, come back later and check in on where it is up to. A few gotchas (learning curve) regarding unexpected characters in file names, but after some use, you work out how to get around those.

Great product!

The conversion of PDF works very well with the Swing PDF Converter. The content of all tabs and sections of the document is visible, attachments will be embedded in the document and also document links are working within the PDF document (initial planning needed). It's easy to integrate the libraries into own Domino databases. In summary it's a great product! Congratulation to SwingSoftware!

단점:

Sometimes the performance could be better, but I don't assign it to the Pdf converter. It depends on the infrastructure (network, ..) and in LotusScript you can't convert documents in parallel - that's not an issue of Pdf converter!

SWING PDF Converter: the right tool to acquire new projects

The API is very well documented and the numerous examples were very useful to produce quickly a POC which helped us to win the projects.

We used the SWING PDF Converter API and not the product itself cause we were searching endless liberty to export the data in the most cenvenient format.

Great tool for archiving IBM Notes e-mails as PDFs

The SWING PDF Converter is easy to integrate into templates for applications, rolls out automatically by using Domino's design task, offers a large variety of customizations, like the PDF's file name. Small issues with German special characters were solved very quickly by the SWING support team.

단점:

The necessity of separate installation on a multi server site.

Great product for converting Notes documents into PDF!

주석: We have used Swing PDF Converter in an application that generates RoHS Certificates and REACH Documents. Also used by HR for producing Total Compensation Reports for employees. Customer Service has been excellent. I always get a very quick response, for example, when I request a temporary license key for use on our test server.

Ability to export into multiple pdfs or single pdf package with bookmarks. Also, code samples.

단점:

It can be a little tricky to diagnose issues.

SWING converter is very reliable and easy to use. Comprehensive error messages helped me to resolve upload issues. Attached documents are uploaded and accessible as well.

Powerful tool to convert Notes documents- and views to PDF

주석: We use the SWING PDF Converter to create invoices and the product has done so without a hick-up for many years.

It is very powerful, and since it uses Notes-forms as base of the print-design, it is pretty straight forward to create WYSIWYG-documents. Also love the robustness of the product

단점:

Not much, but you need to know your way around Notes-development to get it going.

End of life cycle archiving

장점:

We were moving our Finance and Human Resources programs from Lotus Notes to our centralized state government system. We were required to save payroll documents for 5 years and we could not use any Lotus Notes based version as we were not renewing licensing for those products. Swing PDF converter was a very inexpensive but quick and quality product that fit our needs perfectly. I was able to archive all documents in a matter of weeks. I wish we had known about Swing before our change of systems.

단점:

I did have limited use in our end of life cycle project and did not find any cons for our use. All was positive.

Perfect tool for easy programmatic conversion from IBM Notes to PDF

Great solution for lingering Lotus Notes problem

Excellent Tool - Best ever found for Notes conversion.

주석: Ease of use, detail documentation. Support very good and helpful, even though outside US support was excellent. Support teams were great help and support. The price was excellent, not expensive and the tool does fantastic job migrating to SharePoint.. Very pleased and our full migration will be completed by EOD March 2019. Business very pleased with the results and Historical archive using the Swing PDF Converter tool.
