Excellent software for web data extraction

주석: We use Octoparse for academic and research purposes, and in this regard the program has met all expectations. Likewise, many of my students say that the program is easy to use and have adopted it as a key tool in their work as a key tool to increase their productivity.

장점:

I have been using Octoparse for almost 5 years now and I can confidently say that this is the best program for extracting data from the web without writing a single line of code. Plus, it has an intuitive platform and excellent technical support.

단점:

Despite having a very intuitive interface, it requires several hours of trial and error before you can fully master it. There are also opportunities for improvement in the translation of the interface into Spanish.

Ease to test, support is second to none. and I do say that with a background running data services and support with 200 engineers and 150 support staff.

단점:

none that I have run into. the product continues to evolve which is perfect for our needs on a changing basis daily.

Octoparse is a reliable tool for scrape websites easier.

주석: Octoparse is a reliable and easy scraping tool which has very strong supporting team behind.

Continues service with least interruption rate and quick responses from the support team.

단점:

Some tasks are not possible to modify. Also, Cloudflare bypass was limited to popular websites. Other websites might need extra credits to bypass.

Bad company!

주석: We tried octoparse in the free trial version but found out that their data-extraction is illegal in the EU. So we stopped. But we had to give creditcard info before we could start. They took the money but right away and refuse to refund.
So watch out with this company. It's scam and fraud and once you try to address any issue they don't react.
ONE OF THE WORST EVER !!!

My Octoparse Experience

주석: I am using it almost evry day, and I am happy with the maintenance.

장점:

-Quick turnaround when I need assistance for a specific task. -Uninterrupted service.

단점:

1- I would prefer to use input file (csv) as a list in a loop - currently you can only import url list 2- I would prefer use the input file as a local path; so Octoparse would import it automaticall every time I run the task. Currently, I have to import the file manually everytime. It is not feasible.

Become a data champion

주석: Love Octoparse for web scraping and data extraction, really easy tool to use and actually very inexpensive. The UI is easy to navigate and if you run into issues the CS team can look into the issue and provide you with fixes (they told me what code to add and where to fix an issue I was having).
You don't even need any developer or coding experience.

The ability to parse virtually any website for data and then quickly export and utilize it was great. The scrapes helped identify leads for targeted outreach, usually the research process takes the longest, but Octoparse made it fast and easy. I actually got more than I was looking for

단점:

Downloading the octoparse client onto my own device for the trial period before upgrading made me hesitant, only because I had never heard of octoparse, but I never experienced any issues.

Great product for the price

주석: I think it is a valuable tool for the price and customer support is key in my useage.

Customer support is very quick and reliable. Able to solve issues quickly with a thorough explanation.

단점:

No PDF support. There are times where super basic and the super complicated sites are not easy to capture.

OctoParse Works

주석: My overall experience has been good. I've been able to use the tool to scrape the sites I needed. Support has been very good as well.

장점:

When configured properly, it works. So far, I've not come across a site I could not parse with OctoParse.

단점:

It's can be extremely difficult to configure correctly. This may just be the nature of the beast, but for some sites it's definitely a task to get the right configuration set up.

The best for web scraping

주석: We have been working with the free version for several months and, after that, we got the PROFESSIONAL PLAN. There is a huge difference in terms of amount of data and speed of downloading. The support is great, they helped us in many issues.

It is easy to use and detect fields in an automatic way.

단점:

It takes time to learn some features and options. It is easier than other software but still not completly automatic.

Experience: I have been looking professional web scraper for about two months now. I did try so many software's. Some was hidden mist! Most did not work at all. Then I did end up to get Octoparse web scraper! Wau! That cloud base software was exactly what I was looking for! This software really works. Software works even with some of the complex website. I definitely recommend! I use Octoparse on a daily basis and at my organization. there is no smoother way of web scraping! The software has never given me any issues. I think nobody can find better software to scrape data from web. Software It works exactly as expected. Octoparse is easy to use interface no experience scrapping websites is needed - but can do a lot. Octoparse software It has enabled me to ingest a large number of data point and focus my time on statistical analysis vs. data collection. It has safe me some much time! Same jobs would take me hours before and now data is collected in few minutes! When I need a quick way to grab structured web data, Octoparse software will be my first choice.
It took time to learn the tool, but when you master it - there are lot's of powerful features. In just few days I managed to extract product information from thousands of products with very little effort! Using Octoparse to scrape a lot of data we needed was MUCH faster than custom building any solution. The user interface is intuitive, pricing very reasonable, and support was outstanding! 주석: After searching and searching for a data-service. I couldn't quite fine one that would meet my needs. Then came Octoparse. At first I was hesitant to use. However after watching several tutorials. I could tell the Octoparse team spent alot of time making it easy to use. Octoparse is an extremely powerful tool that has optimized and pushed our data scraping efforts to the next level. I would recommend this service to anyone. The price for the value provides a large return on the investment. For the free version, which works great, you can run at least 10 tasks at a time. However, these tasks are ran simultaneously in the background of the computer application. In my opinion buying any of the plans that allow you to use the cloud interface is very helpful and provides a good bit of flexibity. You can close out of the application and know that Octoparse is running on a server somewhere. My favorite feature is the multi-export options that are provided (csv, microsoft excel old & new, TXT, html). Octoparse doesn't require you to have any knowledge of coding which is helpful. However, knowing simple x-code shortcuts makes Octoparse even more powerful because you can create your own custom script that will run based on your need. The walkthrough tutorials when you first start I think is what really changes the game for Octoparse. Every once in a while. I have issues with Octoparse shutting down or troubles exporting. However, Octoparse support is super quick and reliable. The bill payment is very trustworthy as well. Octoparse also offers proxy capabilities, and the ability to turn off images to speed up the process. Another addition in the cloud settings is the ability to denote and categorize tasks based on its status. I know this may seem like a no-brainer feature. However it is super helpful to know the status or time of when multiple tasks will be completed so I can plan the extraction. I have heard great things about the API capabilities, however I haven't had time to figure it out. Next on my list. All in all Octoparse offers a wide range of features and I'm happy to have used it.

주석: I have tried about 20 web data extraction software incl. online ones and desktop apps. I have stopped at Octoparse as for me it appeared to be the best option because: 1. it offers a "linear" (in the good sense) and convergent workflow for a job versus the rather messy and distractingly branching/forking semantics of the process of other software where after a certain point you lose the touch/control because of steeply growing complexity along the steps of the workflow (this problem with other software is even more severe when the workflow steps are named in quite an arbitrary manner by the vendor leaving you without any clues as to what the given step is about or how you are supposed to carry it out, etc.);
2. its workflow is simple/straightforward, friendly and intuitive - with Octoparse you do not need hours or days of training/reading of instructions, tutorials, etc. as is the case with the other software I have tried/tried to go through; the process is highly structured and coherent in Octoparse;
3. it does not require any specialized/professional skills of any kind of coding. As a possible drawback I would point to the relatively weak consistency among the offerred 4 modes of extraction. I have noticed that there are a few inconsistencies in step logic mapping/matching across some of them, but I have not explored all of them to be honest, so this problem may in fact be less significant. Thank you.

Octoparse is the best free solution for web scraping

주석: Octoparse offers a free scraping GUI for everyone without coding experience. The free local extraction feature is enough for almost any business starter or data collector. I mean its great you can handle all types of pagination from infinite scroll or ajax called also including the normal button pagination. Its a nightmare to develop something like this from scratch using php. I mean Octoparse are like the middle man from the web and the perfect excel sheet with all data collected inside it formatted into columns and perfect rows just need to be adjusted into charts. Although the gui is a bit complicated for someone new to the software , the tutorials are very easy to track and the moving pictures for every step are awesome. After investing some time developing the local extraction mechanism ,you can export the project to the cloud extraction as it will be much easier to use also because that is the logical step for the next move if you want to scrap large scales of data or you dont have to worry about schedule , it is in the cloud and running smoothly. The API integration also make it easier to use the data. Exporting the data via API is one of the solutions , you also can export them in various file formats including csv. You can build mobile app directly on the API and with some patience you can get more reliable data at your hand any time. I am as a wordpress developer use the api to integrate in the wordpress itself including other plugins like the woocommerce for eCommerce platform. Giant price comparison companies use the sam emethod to scarp data and publish them to their web , we can do the same with much less work using Octoparse ! Why to re-invent the wheel ?! time is money !

주석: The best automated web scrapper I have ever used. I have been using it for more than a year now and it has helped me so much in my data collection.

The best thing about Octoparse is that it gets all the critical components just perfect for you to start web scraping.

The auto-detection of the webpage can be a hindrance. At times, you would need to manually build the scraping automation to get it right.

I like Octoparse cloud service best. It allows me to schedule my task and run at regular time, thus I could get the updated data automatically every day. Also, it has strong functions to extract different kinds of websites, which is really brilliant. The pricing is acceptable compared to other data extraction tools, no matter to say that it provides discounts for journalism.

단점:

It would take you a little time to start your first task. But with the help of its detailed tutorials, you could finally make it.

Helpful Extraction Tool!

Point-and-Click interface. this feature makes me feel arranged while I'm using Octoparse, it's clear to see which step I am in, and what step should I do next.

단점:

Customer Support. the customer supports dont reply instantly, sometimes it takes hours to reply my e-mails.

Octopus review

주석: it made lot simple our deployment process to push the changes to different clients at a time.

장점:

I liked the tentacles concept that will be useful to push the changes to more than one area/customer. it works really great to implement CI/CD when working with TeamCity to build your software. I like the creation of variable to manage different environments to deploy our product.

단점:

UI can be more enhanced for better quality. creation channels needs to be improved. it would be nice if we have an option to auto email option built in with results of each deployment.

Great for data scraping

주석: Octoparse lets our company free up time to do other projects. We are able to set up data projects in Octoparse and it goes right to work doing what we could never do in the amount of time it takes. We love using Octoaparse for our data scraping needs.

There are a lot ways to scrape data from several different sites. Ocotparse also offers lots of tutorials if you are unsure of how to scrape data from certain sites.

단점:

There are some features that might be hard to understand how to use if you do not have a basic understanding of coding. Ocotparse does provide many how to guides to help those that do not have a good background in coding.

Great Data Extraction tool!

주석: I don't need to use most of my work time on collecting data on websites, I can use this software to do the job instead. I can have my other works done simultaneously.

It's easy to use, and its point-and-click interface is very easy to understand! Also, it is very functional. Great improvement on my efficiency!!

단점:

Price is not so pleasant, but I think it is quite worthy, since it improves much of my efficiency!!!

Easy, useful web scraping.

주석: This has really helped our company's lead generation and allowed us to focus on much more pressing issues than building lead lists manually.

This is a great option for anyone looking to scrape large amount of web data, quickly. It can run in the cloud and the GUI makes scraping accessible to non-developers. Plus they have great customer support for any snags along the way.

단점:

Not there fault at all but some things (like knowing to delay page loading with AJAX) are mysteries to non-developers. It'd would be awesome (and I think pretty easy) if Octoparse has pre-written scripts for the most popular sites to scrape.

This is a very powerful and useful product for my research!

You just need to spend few time at the beginning for setting it and make it working properly on your machine.

Used for a Property Company

주석: I have used octoparse for a few months to gather property data in the UK. The free version worked well and was easy to use for someone with no technical experience. I liked that I could click at the information that I would like to be scraped. I found it could be a bit slow as it works on my local machine (so relying on a slow computer for me), however, the paid accounts work in the cloud which is great. It works quickly, and is great to just set up and leave. Much more cost effective than hiring somebody to do data entry work manually and can be easily set up and leave to work as it works in the cloud. It is easy to download the scraped data and opens easily in excel. I would recommend this product if you want an easy to use web scraping product and do not have too much technological expertise.

Octoparse is quite a good tool to scrape the information online.

Octoparse helps me to extract some heath care information online, which is quite helpful to my research. At first I was usually suck in some websites, like pagination, scrolling-down, but the tutorials help me a lot to figure out the problem and I finally succeeded in getting the data I want. Besides, I do appreciate Octoparse support team. They did help me a lot.

단점:

The cost is a bit expensive. But luckily, they offer great discounts to students now. And I hope the premium plan could also deal with the Captcha one day.

Awesome software for extract data web.

주석: The pros are the ease of use, has a wide variety of choices for extraction and page navigation. Everything visible on the page can be extracted . It also has options to export the extracted data to different platforms (TXT , Excel , databases ) . Customer support is very good and solve problems immediately. Cons may be the nonexistence of developer forums,
but overall the software is very very good.
