Slack 리뷰
고려된 대안:
Implementing Slack at work was an absolute decision
주석: We implement slack for inter-office communications. Slack made the communication possible and managing workflows was a lot easier. We often use slack for real-time messaging not, particularly for archives. Overall, slack has enhanced our business productivity, collaboration between project teams, and managed to provide streamlined communication.
장점:
Slack was easy to use and implement at work. The web version of slack works completely fine. The slack interface is streamlined and ideal for business communication. We are able to replace emails at work and use communication on slack, which is quick and easy for project teams. The most significant thing I loved about Slack is, it can be integrated with other productivity, communication, and collaboration tools to make the work more streamlined and can be an optimum choice for automation and scripting.
단점:
The only downside to this application is its pricing. The standard plans lack most of the important features, so we thought of upgrading to Plus. Since the price is based on per person per month, we found the pricing for Plus too high. So, we had expected if the price could be pay-per-module, but that can’t be helped either.
Slack is great for work groups
주석: I’ve used Slack for years now and I love the ease of use. I love how I can quickly brainstorm something for the group and leave it in the chat or schedule it to be delivered when everyone is available.
장점:
I love that it’s fairly easy to use for beginners once you get the hang of it. I love that you can add photos, links, attachments, etc to messages and groups within Slack and you can also have multiple accounts for different businesses, work, school, and clients. I love that it has an app so that I am able to use it on the go from my phone, tablet, or laptop. I love that you can silence or stop notifications and getting messages at a certain time until the next day. It helps you keep work and home separate as well because you aren’t constantly getting notifications after hours if you use it for work.
단점:
I don’t really have any issues that I can complain about right now. Everything I needed Slack for it worked great.
The original is better
장점:
A good centralized place for employees to gain information about the workplace, kinda similar to discord with the ability to make channels for specific criteria
단점:
Kinda unoriginal and generally subpar compared to Discord, a lot of the features have been executed better elsewhere than here
Great option for team communication
장점:
I really like that I can sync automations with Monday. And I can also manage permissions for everything, that way we can have multiple channels with the persons we want to.
단점:
I dont have anything to complain about Slack, it is being really useful. We can communicate with the entire team, and it helps a lot the remote workers to stay connected with the office.
Slack for the everyday user
주석: Slack is wonderful—it’s never a question of its usefulness. It gives our team the opportunity to grow, connect, and collaborate effortlessly. Slack is easy to train on and lets you show off your personality. It also has many hacks and tricks that most people don’t know about, like setting reminders, sharing a GIF instantly, and mentioning individuals, only those online, or an entire channel. It’s a smart system that I love using.
장점:
The ease of communication between teams, colleagues, and even adding a second or third company is so easy. I also love how easy it is to start a 'video call' huddle with anyone in your organization. With one click, you’re chatting over video, sharing your screen, and connecting with someone on the other side of the world. It also integrates very well with Zapier, Google, Asana, Calendly and many more.
단점:
I'm not sure if this is a Slack issue or a user issue. I’m an Apple product fanatic; however, when my Slack is buzzing with notifications from all the workflows and channels I’m in, my phone, laptop, and watch all go off simultaneously, which can be overstimulating. Although I’ve turned off notifications on my watch (for my sanity), there are times I wish only certain channels would communicate to it.
Vital to our internal company communication
주석: Slack is our main communication tool for our company. We love how we can have an assortment of channels. I'm not sure what we'd do without it.
장점:
1) it's free. 2) we can easily include pictures, video, links, emojis to posts. 3) the phone app is just as good as the desktop app.
단점:
The free version only has three months of history available, but given it's free, it's not a problem.
Slack is a must have for your development team
주석: My favorite instant messaging tool for the workplace, especially since I am on a development team. The integrations also create a single place to get updates on all of the work going on.
장점:
Easy to use, lots of plug ins and integrations. Developers love this app and it allows you to create channels as well as small adhoc groups to keep people up to date and have quick conversations. Huddles are also very convenient for a quick oral conversation. We have integrated it with Atlassian to keep people up to date on tickets and changes in status. We also have channels with external partners to make communication with them even easier.
단점:
Sometime the number of channels and direct messages you have available at any time can be overwhelming. You can remove yourself from channels and delete direct messages but often there are a lot that you want to keep up with.
My preferred work communication tool
주석: My overall experience with Slack has been fantastic! It’s user-friendly, keeps communication organized, and helps the team stay connected and productive. It’s truly been a valuable tool for collaboration.
장점:
What I love most about Slack is how effortlessly it keeps me connected with my team. Conversations flow naturally, everything is organized into channels, and sharing files or integrating tools is a breeze. It truly helps everyone stay aligned without feeling overwhelmed! I also love the personalisation available. Access to GIFs and custom emojis help to keep things fun and not too formal!
단점:
Honestly, I don’t have any major complaints. It’s an excellent tool for team communication and collaboration that runs smoothly. The only factor that really matters is how well your team organizes it, but overall, my experience has been very positive!
Slack Belongs in All Dental Practices
주석: Slack has been a terrific addition to our health care office to ensure that the entire team is able to communicate without distraction to our clients and improve efficiency.
장점:
Ease of setup and daily use, can have accounts for each team member and then numerous groups for each channel, the mobile app works perfectly for when you are on the go, you can easily send and review files and it helps provide a history to go back and look at what was discussed.
단점:
The cost conversion from USD to CAD means it costs significantly more for Canadians to use. Also, signing in without a password and having to go through email for a login code is a pain for users in a group setting who are not working on their own device.
It doesnt get better than Slack
주석: I love it - it works so well for me and is a great way to communicate with my colleagues. I love all of the features and am constantly amazed with all the things it can do - automation is definitely a huge drawcard for me!
장점:
I love everything about slack. I have had to use other messaging services in the past and slack has everything you need and more - emojis, gifs, workflow automations, channels, groups. It is fabulous
단점:
Honestly - nothing big comes to mind. I love using Slack. I have noticed a bug recently were messages on my phone are quite delayed compared to my desktop app but this is very minor

A great team communication tool
주석: Slack is honestly the best tool for team collaboration. You can communicate via voice or text with your coworker or friends from the browser, desktop or phone and it's reliable a lot. The messages are there and so are the files shared. Also same with the chat rooms.
장점:
I like Slack. I have been using it for aprox 4 years now. It's simple and it get's the job done. You can add extensions like JIRA, Google Drive, DropBox and so on. Basically slack you can have different rooms for different teams (you can manage the members per room or invite) and you can also have private chat conversations with other people. It's basically a chat server for your company or organization. The mobile app is awesome, the desktop app is fine and you can also use Slack on the browser. The free tier is good if you have a small team, now if you message a lot there's like a 10,000 message limit for the history so if you want to get the best deal, you'll need to pay. Same for the file sharing, there's a limit but it works super good.
단점:
Honestly Slack is great, but with the time, it's become stagnant. A lot of other platforms are providing features that are more robust and free. For instance, Discord, even if it is for gaming, it does everything Slack does and better. Even the desktop sharing is better. I wish Slack just kind of moved out of the stagnant position they are right now and innovate a bit more or refresh their app, but hopefully they don't break it, because it works fine as well.
The BEST tool for interoffice communication and filesharing
주석: Slack has improved my team communication and collaboration exponentially. I can't say enough good things about the developers and the incredible tool they have built. Every time I interact with the interface I am amazed at the ease of use. Slack has also never crashed on me - not once.
장점:
Slack is so robust. You can send files, GIFS, video, have team video calls and create channels for your team to chat together. When sharing links, there is an option to display rich content previews, and you can even make your own emojis. The customization is endless. It is incredibly powerful even as a free version. Once I unlocked the paid version, having access to all of my archived files just took it to the next level. I highly recommend Slack for any size team and have used it for about 4 years.
단점:
I have no complaints about Slack. I believe their pay-gate in the free version restricting access to files past a certain time period is completely fair, and the support and interface they offer is unlike any other. Being able to search back in chats for exactly the file or conversation someone referenced without having to bother them again for the details.
free instant messaging for small businesses
주석: a great free/paid, GDPR compliant option for company instant messaging
장점:
Slack offers free versions of it's software which were suitable for our business and therefore saved us money versus competitor instant messaging products. Slack is also GDPR complaint so ticked our boxes in terms of what we needed. The interface is also simple to use and intuitive, as well as not being too cluttered. It offers both group chats, company wide groups and personal chats. Slack also has great integration possibilities with other apps such as dropbox, or client relationship managers, which is useful for sharing information. it also allows you to create polls and share gifs etc, and has clear pop up notifications and email updates.
단점:
-limited naming allowances for channels (e.g. no spaces end no capital letters) which can make it hard to think of obvious names for some groups -the gif insertion is a strange system, (have to type /giphy [text] and then it will give you one suggestion of a gif and you have to shuffle if you want a different picture, rather than being able to choose) -the way of responding to a certain message and creating a new chain can be complex to some in the team

Love it. Slack-ing off @ work
주석: It has offered a more comfortable work life and the UX seems to have that as a guiding principal. It works well and has a wonderful host of API's that greatly extend functionality of the software.
장점:
It makes Microsoft Teams or whatever they call it this year obsolete. It's like an intra-office Reddit for us. Hilarious but still very productive.
단점:
That it defaults to trying to update via windows store. Which is not accesible via group policy. Forcing an manual install every time.
Best Collaboration Tool Available!
주석: Slack has been wonderful to use both professionally and personally. I have managed multiple cross functional projects utilizing this tool to gather the most recent information needed for status reports, metrics, check-ins etc. Personally I use it to collaborate with my Agile Coach friends across the globe to share tools, tips and tricks we use while supporting our teams at work. We also use it monthly during our zoom meetups to chat amongst ourselves and share info during the call etc. I highly recoomend this collaborative tool.
장점:
I LOVE that you can create your own channels to keep conversations and shared documents organized and easily accessible for different groups you are collaborating with. I also LOVE that these channels don't expire and can be accessed by anyone across the globe that you are collaborating with. This has changed the way collaboration can happen virtually in real time!
단점:
The # hashtags can cause me issues when I am searching for things but I am starting to get better at using them.
There's Everything Else, Then There's SLACK
주석: We were having to find a way of maintaining connectivity as the company went into a fully remote work environment. Prior to COVID 19 we were heavily dependent on in person communication to get tasks completed and communication organized. Post COVID we've actually increase our productivity in task completion and maintained or increased out teams communication and morale through the features of Slack. Without it out company would certainly have had a bigger negative impact from COVID, now we're not just surviving, we're thriving!
장점:
Mobile and desktop notifications, specific channels to tailor communication based on the audience, having a log history to lock back on, easily sharing files, integrations that make workflows easy, increasing productivity and connectivity with remote teams, creating a culture that cares
단점:
Nothing overly stands out as something that isn't to like. There's so many customizations and personalized controls that give the users the level of interaction that they want and need. Slack continues to set the bar.
The Ultimate Tool to Work From Home!
주석: Slack enables me to coordinate all my Meetings and Team communications in a very professional Manner. It has been a great platform to share our files. Screen sharing is another add on worth it.
장점:
Slack is a well thought platform for Entrepreneurs to use and be more efficient in a timely manner. Working from home, this tool has enabled me to work everything out on a single software and this saves me a lot of time.
단점:
Concerning the Drawbacks, i have not quite found any yet, it is very user friendly and everyday you learn something new about the various features it has.
Pretty great way to connect with your team
주석: I really enjoy using Slack to connect with various groups and individuals I need to interact with both inside and outside of my work organization. Adding additional connections outside of my organization is easy and then gives me access to all work-related communications inside the app I already use for work communications. Very convenient!
장점:
It's easy to set up new workspaces, and once they're set up you have an easy way to connect with all the people you work with simply and in either a synchronous or asynchronous way. This is especially helpful when connecting with people from multiple timezones.
단점:
Video calls are pretty resource-intensive so it's sometimes hard to do such things as share your screen to demonstrate a problem you're working on. Furthermore, those controls always get in the way of what you're trying to do. It would be nice if they could be minimized into a floating button, or something, that you could move out of the way until you needed them.
One of the best essential tools for many departments
장점:
Being able to control channels by managing team members on each channel is helpful. It also lets us connect with external slack (companies) and easily communicate with third-party companies with ease. Switching between organizations is a breeze. I can be able to open up multiple slack apps throughout many computer systems with the same credentials is also a huge plus.
단점:
I have not found one yet. All the features are quite satisfactory.
Great collaboration platform
주석: Slack seems to been the best collaboration currently available
장점:
Simple to install, setup, and use for an organization of any size. They continue to enhance and improve. The search capability is very slick and the option to save a message for quick find later is great. Easy to organize channels and direct messages into groups. Has a lot of add ons which help integrate with other tools within a work environment. Great documentation and community support. Ease of management is a highly desired feature, which slack provides. Collaboration options like audio/video calls, file sharing, screen sharing, ability to select which screen/desktop to share, and group calls are amazing features which work really well
단점:
Nothing that stands out other than occasional bugs which get addressed soon. Some apps send notifications even after they are muted.
Slack for Team Communication
주석: We use Slack as an internal team communicate tool for transparency of discussions with team members in multiple time zones and also to encourage team bonding. Direct messaging is also conveniently located here and since most of the devs on my team don't actual bother to login to the company mandated direct messaging team, it's easier to get ahold of them.
장점:
My previous experience with group real-time communication was IRC. As an employee who had just barely gotten their toes wet using terminal, IRC was intimidating to run and intimidating to find any past conversations because searching it required terminal commands and a third party plugin to just login. It also did not retain history when you signed off, so as one who is on a team that includes people in no fewer than 3 time zones, I often missed communication when I went home. It took some prodding to get our team onto Slack, but once we were on all, we didn't look back. Slack's support of custom bots was, ironically, one of the determining factors for migrating, but we heavily use the drag and drop interface to share files and images all the time, and also push out GitHub notifications from cli testing into our channels. Being able to pin resources to channels and having the little channel blurb at the top has also allowed us to sub-divide into teams and have critical resources for each team (ticket tracking, zoom link, etc) at the top.
단점:
I'd say the one downside I feel about Slack is that while they did do a good job improving their search, I still find myself struggling to find things I know I favorited and I can't search favorites. I also wish I was able to tag favorites with my own set of tags.
The Ultimate Tool for More Slack Time
장점:
Our company (software delivery solutions company – software industry) has been utilizing Slack for over three years to help both our internal and external teams keep organized. Our team often holds meeting remotely and works with distributed teams, sometimes even in other countries. Having the ability to communicate in one place has shown visible improvements in time and efficiency of getting our team work completed. Slack allows you to set up multiple “workplaces”. For example, we have one workplace we use for our external team and a secondary workplace for our primary, internal team. This helps us keep the responsibilities we share in each team separate of each other. Within each workspace you can create separate channels based on a particular group or topic and invite specific members who pertain to it. You also have a channel that enables everyone in that workspace to communicate within one area and/or you chat directly with one individual from that workspace (which would not be visible to anyone else). Slack’s search features are very helpful and work much like Google. You can also specify your search’s by choosing an individual, date, or key phrase to search for. Uploading and sharing PDFs, Excel, PPTs, etc. is also supported and can be easily shared among others. We rely heavily on Google as our file storage system. The free version of Slack provides you with the option to connect it to your Google Drive account so you are notified, with a link, when anyone share
단점:
Because we are currently utilizing the free plan for a fairly small to mid-sized team we often run into storage problems. When this happens, the only option you have available is to have each team member go in and delete EACH file individually. This is very tedious and time consuming and can take hours to delete 500 files (tip: keep up with it or do searches to make sure you don’t upload the same files that have already been uploaded to Slack). You can also clear more storage by having the admin delete messages from your teams’ shared messaging area, or what we recognize as our case, “general” channel. Having the ability to look back into your history is very handy. I would strongly recommend the Standard Slack plan for those who have the extra wiggle room in their budget – which provides unlimited search history and app integration. I currently utilize the desktop application of Slack, so that it is always on my tool bar and easy to access on the daily; however, it prone to timing out when losing internet connection.
Slack Must Be the Most Useful Communication Tool of the Modern Era!
주석: Slack has allowed me to improve work relationships and provided a bridge to access different organizations in the same place, from freelance to more traditional enterprises. It has also been extremely helpful to communicate with fellow students at one university, as this is the chosen tool for all generic communications. Because it makes it easy to share code, images and videos either directly on the platform or through third-party services like Google Drive and Dropbox, it has enabled our teams to work more effectively and gather resources in one central spot. And because the search function is quick and offers different filters to narrow down the results to specific channels or members, it's easy to find what you are looking for. It has worked incredibly well for groups of hundreds of people connected at once with perfect synchronicity. Having the ability to stay updated on the fly thanks to the mobile application is also a great advantage that comes in handy more than once.
장점:
I really enjoy how flexible Slack allows you to be by creating any number of channels you may need to break down conversations per topic. Beyond having the ability to create and join channels based on your needs, the feature to star items is particularly helpful when you are on the go and want to come back to a specific point in time quickly. It is easily accessible with just one click (or tap on mobile) and makes it easy to remember key conversations that are happening. Slack also integrates brilliantly public conversations and what's called "direct messages", enabling you to have private conversations with any member within the organization, hence avoiding the need to use an additional platform for this specific purpose. There is also a neat and practical solution brought by Slack apps, which add even more features including the ability to share polls with Polly, integrate with GitHub, share files stored on Google Drive and Dropbox, which are the apps that we use the most. Being able to control notifications precisely, automatically snoozing them when you are unavailable, makes for a more peaceful experience when dealing with hundreds of members. There are also other features that make you life better, such as the many keyboard shortcuts and the built-in commands you can fire up directly from the reply area, including formatting options and interactions with Slack apps.
단점:
On the down side, I have found it somewhat confusing to get to set up Slack within other services through their API, for instance to connect Slack on GitHub. Although the reply area is feature-rich, some functions like text formatting could be more intuitive. For example, you don't get to see live if your text will be bold or italic. Slackbot is useful to ask simple questions, but many times it will provide answers that are too simple and could easily be improved. Once again on formatting, Slackbot doesn't explain how to format "code" snippets in-line or even on multiple lines. Many hidden features can only be found by looking online in the "Help Center" or by trial and error, which is not as practical as being able to ask questions directly to Slackbot which should be able to handle those requests. I have also found the desktop application to simply be an exact replica of the web application. Apart from the fact that it adds a little Slack icon in the notification bar, I find it even less intuitive to use than the web application, as it requires to open a new tab in the web browser to sign in. By not being completely independent from a web browser, it basically just results in having a separate web browser that can only handle one tab, which makes it rather inconvenient, especially considering that notifications are well integrated in the web version and that you can "pin" tabs in most web browsers to keep Slack one single click or keyboard shortcut away.
A great free product with a high cost of entry
주석: Slack is a great free platform for team collaboration and communication, that really helps simplify our communication process. While it has some issues, overall the free tier offers a great option for any team looking to improve their communications.
장점:
Slack creates a simple & powerful interface for inter-team communication, allowing for simplified communications that move beyond emails & facebook messages by creating a secure platform for teams. Slacks best features are perhaps the ability to setup channels (which allows for very focussed spaces dealing with a particular topic), and the ability to reply to individual messages in a thread. Channels help keep my teams focussed and on topic, while also providing a space for random chatter (in our "Random" channel), while threads help keep channels from turning into a brutally long, confusing message thread. That paired with the ability to "react" to messages with emoji's, share individual messages with a specific individual, create private or public channels, and send group messages to team members, this platform helps create a simple space for teams to collaborate and communicate in a way that feels more natural than text threads, facebook messages, or emails.
단점:
Slack is a great platform, but can be a bit confusing to administrate on the back-end, or confusing to new users. Setting people up for success on Slack can take a bit of time; as there is a learning curve for tech illiterate people. Perhaps the most difficult issue with Slack however is in managing team members who do not check Slack frequently. Simple notifications (via email, text etc) for @channel, @everyone or @specific_user would be beneficial, as it would help eliminate some of these issues. Supposedly, Slack offers email notifications, however in all my testing I've never been able to get it to work properly, and it is something that team members need to setup on their own - it is not something that can be set across the workspace & then opted out of by team members.
Slack is an exceptional communications tool for teams of all sizes. I highly recommend it.
장점:
Slack was built with a very powerful software architecture in mind, yet so many individuals can use it because of its friendly user-interface. The design is very fun, playful and gives you the powerful functionality that you never thought existed. For how many use cases there are in Slack, they make the user experience very streamlined and easy to pick up. In addition, you can sync a lot of the other programs that you use with their integration features. My favorite is the ability to keep up with internal conversations based on the topic. I personally dislike being in group chats where the conversation isn't relevant to me. It can be of annoyance receiving notifications that don't pertain to your role and you have to check and delete at a later time. With Slack, their channels can be very specific and allow you to pick and choose which ones you want to join.
단점:
The biggest takeaway is if it's not used right within an organization, it can be a productivity killer. Slack connects to both your mobile device and your laptop so if you do not manage you notifications right, it can be virtually impossible to escape the conversations that are going on. Saying this, our team implements certain hours of the day where ALL phone and laptop notifications are off. Slack makes it possible to do this by changing your modes of availability and/or snoozing the notifcations for certain periods of time. As long as you limit the amount of channels to the ones that require you rattention and don't spend your whole day falling in the trap of checking your notifications all the time, it can be an awesome tool for communication.
