A Great Learning Resource!

주석: I usage both McGraw Hill's textbooks and e-learning materials in teaching Developmental English. McGraw Hill's books are an invaluable resource that is a staple in my learning tools.

장점:

I like the ease of usage, instructional practices, and the overall comprehension that McGraw Hill's textbooks and e-learning books benefit both students as well as instructors.

단점:

The results I receive from my students are clear indicators that this software works as their test results reflect such. Therefore, I cannot find any negatives to associate with usage of this product.

Connecting with McGraw-Hill Connect

주석: Overall I love the software. Our K-6 ELA teachers use it daily in the classroom as their main ELA resource. The students love that they can log in and complete assignements assigned to them by their teacher.

I love that McGraw-Hill Connect made it easy for teachers to add the product license themselves for the teacher book and the student book. Teachers are also able to setup their own account.

단점:

i can say the only thing I don’t like about McGraw-Hill Connect software is the process for uploading students into the program. You have to use a excel template to type certain login credentials for each student. This process is okay on the front in of setting up your student accounts but we get several new students a month and it would be easier to just type those few students information directly into the program instead of completing the excel template and then waiting for it to upload.

Mcgraw hills system is trash

주석: My overall experience was trash and a waste of time. The book access is okay but the assignment system is trash and I have to put up with them for the rest of the semester. I hope that OU switches to something else other than this trashy system.

That I could at least work on my assingments there.

단점:

I hate it. Because everytime I try to do my assignments on there it zaps out because they claims that the connection is down even though my wifi connection is there. Colleges should not use Mcgraw hill connect ever because it cannot make up it's mind between it wanting to work or not. Also if I could rate it zero stars I would because I took my accounting exam last Friday and the amount of times I had to log back in on a TIMED TEST is insane. Please get your act together or you will go bankrupt.

McGraw-Hill

주석: Overall, it was good and I would recommend it to others.

장점:

I liked how there were many electronic copy resources online. Being a special education teacher, we don't always get access to the general ed curriculum but are still expected to assist students with the general education materials. This allows us to have access to the curriculum.

단점:

It takes a lot of time to figure out how to use/access materials. There are a lot of resources and it would be easier if it were organized differently. I had a difficult time finding the interventions in the beginning.

Used for a biology class, generally good results

장점:

I used this software for a biology class and it was connected to the textbook that I was using. I really liked that because then it made sure that what I was reading was directly helping me apply the concepts to the homework assignments. It was also easy to navigate and didn't crash at all, which was a relief because academic work can have so much pressure, despite the unforgiving technological difficulties. There were also tools to help you figure out where you could find some certain information in the text, hints, etc, and by giving me more than one attempt as well as the resources I needed to get the question right, I had much higher rates of success and of retaining the information.

단점:

I felt like at times the voiceover in the beginning could be very redundant and unhelpful (borderline annoying) because the software is so self-explanatory.

High-Quality Products with Disappointing Tech & Customer Service

주석: We love the physical product we have purchased for science, socials studies, and reading through McGraw Hill. The sales representatives are always positive and helpful. But once you purchase these products, getting the online portion(s) to work and show the correct number of seats is usually a headache.

장점:

It allows teachers to access their instructional resources online and allows students to receive online instruction aligned with our McGraw Hill products.

단점:

Initially setting up online access to McGraw Hill products is always somewhat problematic. For instance, you may purchase "x" amount of student and teacher seats to access a particular program, but then those seats won't show up online until you create a ticket with McGraw Hill support and they fix it. Last school year, it took 7 calls, hours on hold with McGraw Hill, and 2 months for one of our 5th-grade teachers to access their Wonders Reading curriculum online.

Honest review of McGraw Hill

주석: I think it is a great tool, but the actual courses provided need to be improved.

I liked how easily it integrated with canvas. It made it easy to connect with the classroom and access assignments.

단점:

I didn't like the courseware provided, it was not the best quality and often found easy ways to cheat and didn't require much thinking which caused me to fail several courses.

Test Bank Nightmare

주석: It's made me consider my preference between it and the other side of a 12 gauge slug.

I dislike McGraw-Hill connect very much. It tests on reading comprehension and endurance more so than actual content.

단점:

The smart book assignments have a limited amount of concepts covered. Instead of application of class concepts, it is more a test of reading comprehension, and attention span. I do not feel that these need to be a long, and could stand to be more varied. It would be appreciated if the concepts matched up to the quizzes. The homework is much less busy, and multiple attempts have helped me consolidate the correct way to approach certain problems. Again, it suffers from narrow focus on conceptual spread when compared with quizzes.

McGraw-Hill Connect makes keeping track of homework and learning for my college courses a breeze!

주석: I have loved using McGraw-Hill Connect as a college student, and always appreciate when my professors make use of this intuitive, seamless platform!

What I personally enjoy about using McGraw-Hill Connect as a college student is the platform's ability to put all of my key components for a course all in one place, allowing me to access eBooks, homework, assignments, and other items with ease. The sleek and simple design is extremely easy to navigate and ensures I do not waste time trying to pull together all my supplies for a certain course.

단점:

What I like least about McGraw-Hill Connect is the platform's inability to allow students to easily and intuitively connect with one another.

McGraw-Hill Connect

장점:

This software is great for professors and students to communicate and submit assignments. I have been using this software since freshman year of college and have gotten very used to the functions. It is easy to use and your book is programmed online with your access code.

단점:

Textbooks are expensive, especially books with access codes so sometimes as a college student I try to avoid buying straight through the site.

The New Way of Learning

주석: Overall, this product is a great learning tool. It is also more affordable if you do the E-book option with the assignments instead of buying the college textbook and the assignments. You can highlight and take notes on the E-book too. I don't like carry a bunch of heavy books so I always preferred the E-books. The learning tools are great to build your knowledge on the material.

When I first started college years ago before I took time off I really struggled with school and learning. During my last few years of college teaching and learning had changed. My college started implementing Connect with various classes like Accounting, Statistics, Math, Business classes. I am sure there are others but I was in the Business program. With connect you can have homework assignments, online E-book, quizzes, tests to be completed on there. They have study materials like flashcards and practice problems to build your skills. My grades improved tremendously with this supplemental instruction.

단점:

The only cons for me was navigating the site. It can be tricky at first but once you utilize the program enough then you get the hang of it. Also the reading assignment sometimes froze on me, but that could be because I was at school using their WiFi and that can be spotty depending on how many students are on it at the same time.

Frustrating experience

주석: The experience has been frustrating. McGraw hill's UI and UX is much to be desired. It has led to unnecessary prolonged study sessions and a test of patience for a student that is trying hard to understand the material. I am a student that would like to not have to understand the education platform as well.

McGraw-Hill is aspiring to create an online ecosystem in which a student (such as myself) can learn on a PC/Phone/tablet. That is really cool, and I'm glad I can take my homework with me on my phone, makes it easy to connect and get to work.

단점:

The overall feel and experience of using McGraw Hill connects platform is akin to a prison yard. The online book will not let me copy text or use external reading functionality. This prevents me from googling difficult topics or taking notes for my exam with ease. The smartlearn platform is nit picky and incorrect in it's time assessments. An assignment that should take an hour ends up taking 4 because of repeat questions and a failure to move forward. The book we are using has yielded multiple mistakes which makes me (the user) second guess if I have the correct answer or if the book is wrong. I think McGraw Hill is trying hard to keep it's users from propagating the educational material it hosts, which I understand. But I would like to say it does it at the expense of a grad students sanity and patience. Please focus on the UX and UI, because right now it is unenjoyable.

Decent tool for class assignments/management

주석: McGraw-Hill Connect is very good for business classes and classes that use numerical data, but not so much for foreign language classes.

I used this when I was taking business classes. The format of how the homework questions are laid out in most classes is easy to follow. I also love how you can get hints or you can click the "book" link and it will take you right to the section of the book that the question pertains to.

단점:

The language courses on Connect are not very well-formatted. They will not give you any points if you make a typo which doesn't seem like a very good system. Also, it costs a lot of money, at $110+ per course (which lasts about 4-6 months).

Interactive textbook increases information retained from reading

주석: Overall I think it helps me understand the material better and I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons!

장점:

This software has been used for many of my college courses and it has definitely helped me understand the material from the textbook better than if I were to be reading it on my own. Having the textbook be interactive, with important sections highlighted and questions being asked along the way, forces me to pay more attention and think critically about what I am reading. It also helped make my reading more efficient, because I was aware of what the most important sections were when I was being quizzed.

단점:

Sometimes if I just wanted to read the textbook without having the quizzes, or just read at my own pace, little reminders about how I had been reading for awhile and not looked at any of the questions yet could get very annoying. The software is great when you want to be using it but if you are trying to avoid it, it doesn't like not being used.

MyMath

주석: I have used the MyMath program for close to ten years. I would like to see more review embedded. I do not like the way they have multiplication in 3rd grade crammed into 4-5 chapters and not really spread out as it needs to be for mastery.

I like that students and I both have digital access to the text. In addition we have access to games and homework sheets.

단점:

The assessment software is very cumbersome. It is not user friendly. I have tried on several occasions to create test and it is not worth the time I put into it. It has potential to be powerful, but just not well executed.

A Greedy Business

주석: Garbage. I don't see any reason this software could not be directly provided by my university unless McGraw-Hill is refusing to do a bundle deal for the college. This forces us to buy individual packages which I'm sure doesn't hurt their bottom line.

It'd be great if it wasn't additionally price gouging student who are already paying thousands for an education.

The fact that I'm already buying textbooks, materials, and paying for classes, why is my university providing this?

McGraw-Hill Connect

주석: McGraw-Hill Connect has made it easier to complete homework assignments and I get instant feedback.

장점:

I like that I can access all of my textbooks and the homework usually has help, but the questions are generic so I can normally get help from some resource.

단점:

I do not like how frequently it seems like the software is being updated and the ease of use for using the textbooks could be better.

Poor Design

주석: This is a poor experience, and I find it very distracting from learning.

장점:

Having the entire textbook, and searching available online.

단점:

Very clunky interface. In the first few weeks, I've found that: the Smart Book assignments force students to interact with INCORRECT answers to uncheck them. Not only does this increase the rate of error, but if students answer them like every other test, they will get all the 'incorrect' ones wrong, because they don't select them. The software also (for accounting) presents cumulative problems that build on eachother. However, when you complete one problem, the software fails to show your answers that help you solve the next problem. So the student either has to screenshot the previous problem or go back and forth. This is true for multiple problem sets.

Good supplement for students.

장점:

As an educator it does a good job of being user-friendly and easy to understand for students to navigate. Students can access practice tests, interactive and assignments. I really like having a digital copy of each textbook available. I use it to supplement my curriculum.

단점:

There are times where Connect has technical issues. It does not have an integrated LMS service which would enhance its appeal for teachers. Sometimes the info is not as current as I would like.

A good tool that is still a work in progress

주석: The software is useful for review learning and for short weekly practice quizzes. Customer service has been excellent, prompt and knowledgeable.

장점:

The adaptive learning aspect works well. It helped many students learning the content and pass the class with a good grade (B+-A). Once the instructor becomes familiar with all the functionalities, it is a valuable analysis tool.

단점:

The use of the software is not intuitive. Many extra steps are required to perform simple tasks such as copying courses from one quarter to the next. The date and time tool does not work consistently. Integration and synchronization with the learning management system can be erratic leading to panicked emails from students. There is no way to enroll as a student. Student preview is not enough to troubleshoot students' problems.

Connect Kids to Learning

주석: I like using the software more than their competitors.

-In the Edition I teach with the reading sections are short but multiple pages which keeps the students from getting bored. - There are different activities to change the pace and keep student engaged. -There are two different course paths for students; one with depth and one for general learning

단점:

-The instructor is not able to see students' progress in real time. - There is no quick check for understanding to see shich students have been following along and which have not.

Straight forward and up to date

주석: I'm a teacher by profession it make my work easier and I'm producing required results.

장점:

Communication features is great, and much simpler to use and time saver.

단점:

I think this software are up to date according to my experience and I would like to congratulate the programmers behind the scenes that are doing sterling work.

Perfect for Distance Learning!

주석: Once students are in the system, it's really helpful for making content delivery varied from textbook to online.

장점:

I like the most that the software will read the lesson out loud to the student while the student follows along. That is really helpful for struggling readers! Also, being able to assign online content directly into Google Classroom is really helpful!

단점:

It is very complicated to add and move students and then also as to where they log in. It's really frustrating.

McGraw-Hill Connect

주석: I think there are probably some good resources here, but honestly, it's been too tedious for me to make my way through the site to find them.

장점:

I have the textbook for my course. Connect is the online platform for students and teachers. My students most often access the online textbook because there is an interactive version that will let them answer questions as they proceed through the chapter.

단점:

This software has been very difficult for me to navigate. I've never been formally trained on it and it doesn't seem intuitive for me to figure out. We've had some difficulty getting students logged in to the software as well. The customer service answer is always to have them call or email customer support which is not super helpful from the classroom.
