Great to track personalized portfolios and calculations

장점:

I like how you can make your own personal portfolios based on whatever metrics you want. I also like the ability to see the overview of companies and get a great understanding of what they do and their financials. Being able to compare industry specific research about certain companies is a great feature as well.

단점:

It is very difficult to use and understand how to complete desired calculations. It can be time consuming manually building out calculations that you want to be visible because they are not available or you just don't know where to locate them.

Best tool for Financial Research

주석: Overall factset is a very good tool for financial research and modelling. Though the loading speed and sometime in-correct number is of concern as referring to the data extracted from Factset and company's balance sheet always is not possible.

장점:

Factset is a comprehensive financial research platform with an intuitive user interface and excellent customer support. I begin with the research about company name and it gives the entire dashboard quickly at once where you see the financial records and can do the comparative analysis. I must say that the customer service of Factset is very prompt.

단점:

The entire tool take a bit of time to load and requires high speed internet connection (at least 50MBPS and above) to open. Though sometime the numbers are incorrect when the same is compared to the balance sheet of the company which in turn is rectified by the factset team when raised a ticket.

Why pay for bloomberg?

주석: Excellent product, a force to be reckoned with.

I like that Factset allows me to purchase exactly what I want, no more, no less. No overpriced single SKU

단점:

It's not financial services industry standard yet. The more players onboard, the better it will become. I heard ML just started using it which is a big deal

Lots of features and information, but can be overwhelming

주석: Finding firmographic information about public companies for recruitment and retention purposes.

장점:

Contains a plethora of organizational information about the financials tied to publicly traded companies - revenue, employee count, primary contacts, funding rounds, stock trends, corporate hierarchy. Tons of information at your disposal - way more than you could ever use.

단점:

There's SO much information that it's hard to navigate for new users.

FactSet Review

장점:

Very intuitive, straightforward terminal user interface; very sleek

단점:

Excel pulls are sometimes difficult to write, especially vs. CapIQ or Bloomberg Terminal

Great for Public Data and Charting Features

주석: Overall I've had a very positive experience with FactSet for its core functionality.

장점:

FactSet has expansive data on public companies and other publicly available information. The charting tools and excel plugins are very functional and easy to use.

단점:

The amount of information on private companies is fairly limited when compared to some of its competitors.

Excellent product

주석: Overall excellent product, highly geared towards equity analysis

장점:

Equity analysis is top notch, able to clearly run historical fundamental analysis for global companies

단점:

Portfolio management features not as a robust as Bloomberg (i.e. back testing, risk etc.), are not a proactive in offering free trials
